The FOX sitcom, “The Mick,” was totally nicked from a maestro Hollywood author who says there’s tough explanation right in a book … according to a lawsuit he’s filed.
Wyndham Lewis, who’s created several seasons of “Nurse Jackie,” says he wrote a book in 2015 for a uncover he called “The Godmother.” It was about an insane “black sheep” aunt who unexpected has to caring for marred abounding kids of white-collared criminals. Sound familiar? Yeah, it’s a same thesis as “The Mick,” that stars Kaitlin Olson in a black sheep role.
Lewis says he submitted his book to a FOX exec, named Jen Carreras, though eventually never struck a deal. Fast brazen to Jan 2016 when — according to docs performed by TMZ — Lewis found out FOX was building a uncover he calls a “rewrite” of his ‘Godmother’ book … and Carreras was a growth exec behind it.
Lewis believes he has a smoking gun, too. According to a suit, a book for a pivotal stage in a FOX uncover contains a typo, referring to a categorical character, “Chip” as Grant. He says Grant is a name he gave that impression in “The Godmother.”
Translation: They altered a names to strengthen a guilty … or so he claims.
Lewis is suing FOX — that only systematic 7 some-more episodes of a uncover — and 3 Arts Entertainment for during slightest $2 million.
