While toll in 2017, a city of Sydney paid reverence to two iconic musicians who died in 2016. Prince and David Bowie were respected during a Australian metropolis’ dazzling New Year’s Eve fireworks celebrations Saturday evening, with tradition pyrotechnics set to their signature songs “Purple Rain” and “Space Oddity.”
“This year, sadly, we saw a detriment of many song and party legends around a world,” fireworks co-producer Catherine Flanagan told Australia’s ABC News. “So celebrating their song as partial of Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks displays is an event to simulate on a year that has been and what a destiny might hold.”
